Write About Family & Children - Excellent Pay

Company: Parents press

Income Level: High

Pay: $100 - $500 PER ARTICLE!

Parents' Press is a monthly newspaper for parents and expectant parents in the San Francisco Bay Area. They have a circulation of over 75,000 which is made up mostly of parents with children of all ages – from infant through teens and so on. Parents’ Press uses many articles in every one of their publications and they are always actively seeking new, creative content producers who want to write practical, no nonsense, down to earth articles. And don’t assume that since they are a “parenting-oriented” magazine that they are looking for articles about parent tips or advice. In fact, Parents Press discourages these kinds of submissions. What they are looking for, however, can include interviews with well-known Bay Area figures who have young children; places to go with children; parent resources (e.g., crisis hotlines); "how-to" articles on everyday aspects of childrearing (e.g., giving a birthday party, buying play equipment, dealing with peer pressure) and more. Also, if you are a professional or specialist in any field they’d love to hear from you. Another awesome thing about writing for Parents Press is that they actually prefer to work with non-published authors! This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to break into the writing world.

But, as always, the bottom line is, “How much do they pay?!”

Parent Press pays on two different levels.

First, if you give them exclusive rights to your work you can score between $100 - $500+ for a single article! Exclusive rights means that you won’t sell it to any other paper, website or individual. Basically it’s theirs, period.

OR, you can decide to keep partial rights to your work and republish it as much as you want and make substantially less. A non-exclusive article will get you between $25 - $50 depending on your topic.

Wondering what to write?

According to their website, these are some of the most recent accepted submissions:

"Coffee, Tea, Mommy, & Me: Tumble & Tea, Play Café Bring New Parent-Child Café Concept to East Bay;""

"His, Hers, or Hyphenated? Solving the Surname Dilemma" (about the different choices Bay Area families make about their children's last names),and

"With a Baby Goat Here, and a Baby Chick There . . . Vallejo's Loma Vista Farm."
